Fuse crowned fastest media team on the Tyne
Fuse has been crowned Fastest Media Team at the NE1 Dragon Boat Race on the River Tyne.
A crew of Fuse staff and guests took to the water for the 2026 race, joining teams from across the North East business community to raise money for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
"We said last year we wanted to come away with a win, and to be named Fastest Media Team is a brilliant result for the crew," says founder and director Jamie Mableson.
"This is our fourth year taking part and it gets better every time. Everyone put in a huge effort and thoroughly deserved it."
It is a fitting title for a business that made its name in media. Fuse started out providing data connectivity for film and TV productions including Bridgerton, The Witcher and Sex Education, before bringing that experience into commercial property.
Today Fuse connects, manages and protects buildings and the businesses inside them. That covers everything from day-one connectivity and managed IT to cyber security and cutting the cost of empty units.
"The business keeps growing, but days like this keep us rooted in the North East," adds Jamie. "We work right across the UK, but this is home and we're proud to support it.
"The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation does incredible work in the region and it was a privilege to race in support of it.
"Huge credit to NE1 for another brilliantly organised event, and to everyone from the North East business community who came out to take part and cheer the teams on. The atmosphere on the river was fantastic."
Operations director Elliot Leese says: "Events like this are a great chance to work together outside the office and spend the day with friends and clients. Getting the win is a bonus, but it's the day itself that makes it."
This year's Fuse Dragon Boat was crewed by staff alongside friends from Parker Knights Real Estate, @Retail, HTA Real Estate, Bradley Hall.
As for next year? "We'll be back to hold on to our media title, and we'll be looking to climb the overall standings too," says Jamie.
