But Fuse’s roles as a corporate sponsor of title-chasing Warriors meant it was down to our man to name the MVPs in the wake of a superb 3-1 win against league leaders Edinburgh Capitals.
“I must admit I was feeling the pressure but judging by the home fans’ reaction I think we managed to make the right pick,” said Jamie, after he settled on Whitley netminder Thomas Brown.
“Browny had an exceptional game and looked like he was on course for a shut out — which he probably deserved.
“I was also asked to pick one of the Capitals’ players and that was a little trickier. But their defenceman Rihards Grigors was excellent.”
Jamie was joined on the ice for the post-match awards by Warriors’ mascot Whitley Wolf as both players were presented with a case of beer.
“It’s great to support our local hockey club and the Warriors are flying at the moment,” added Jamie.
“Fuse Media’s proud to be associated with the club and we’re excited to see how the season ends — there’s still loads to play for.”
Warriors are back at home this weekend (February 8) with Aberdeen Lynx in town ahead of the first leg of this season’s Scottish Cup semi-final first leg.
