And for the second year on the bounce, we’ve helped fund the Eagles’ annual Central Venue League (CVL) All Stars event.
“Jamie and the team at Fuse are longstanding supporters of the Eagles Community Foundation and they played a big part in the success of last year’s successful All Stars day,” said Sam Blake, CEO, Eagles Community Foundation.
“It was fantastic to have Jamie and his colleagues on board again — their contribution to the CVL All Stars is vital.
“Encouraging young people across the North East to stay active and enjoy their sport is central to everything that we do and we rely on the goodwill of our partners to ensure that happens.”
More than 80 young people from 13 Northumberland and Tyne and Wear-based junior clubs represented age groups from Under 12 to Under 18.
The emerging stars were selected from the 132 junior teams that compete weekly at the foundation’s Vertu Arena — home to the most successful men’s franchise in British basketball history.
And Jamie added: “It’s incredible to see the numbers of young people who go through the doors of the arena every weekend.
“The support they receive from the Eagles Community Foundation — all of the staff, coaches and volunteers — is amazing.
“We need to ensure opportunities like this continue to exist in the North East. If we can play a small part by supporting the CVL All Stars event then it’s the least we can do.”
Last year Fuse made the striking Akenside Studios — at the bottom of Newcastle’s Dean Street — our national base ahead of a period of strong predicted growth.
And if increasing our national imprint is top of Jamie’s in-tray in 2026 then reinforcing links with the local community remains a top priority.
“Working with the likes of Newcastle Eagles and Whitley Warriors ice hockey means we retain that connection with a region that we’re proud to call home” he added.
“Contributing to uplift in the North East is about more than business. It’s about helping the next generation to realise their potential and aspire to be better — sport’s a great vehicle for that.”
